Biography

The first song I ever learned to play was Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I was immediately hooked on the song, the band, and rock-n-roll. Skynyrd remains a major influence in my life, but I have moved on to many other influences such as, Joe Pass, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jim Hall, Jimi Hendrix, Kenny Burrell, Richie Zellon, Paul Desmond, Russel Malone, Jeff Buckley, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane and almost any music that is sincere and not overtly commercial.

After making the decision to become a working musician and make music my life, I began music studies at Frederick Community College in Frederick Maryland, graduating with high honors in Music Education. Under the direction of Howard Burns, I spent two years in the Big Band, doing semi-annual concerts at FCC and traveling to Hagerstown and West Virginia for performances. I have held performaces at the Bentz Street Raw Bar, Bushwallers, and Belles Sports Bar & Grille.

I later moved on to study at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. I formed small groups to play for my Junior and Senior recitals including original and solo guitar work. I have played in many of the small combo groups as well as the in the Big Bands and also concentrated on solo guitar performance.

While in school in Florida, I worked as a guitar instructor priveately and for Ron Leighty Guitar Studios in Plantation, Florida. I played 100’s of shows at local clubs in and around Miami and Fort Lauderdale backing singers, performing, signing and arranging Pop songs as well as solo guitar work.

I currently reside in the Baltimore/Washington, DC area and look forward to providing quality entertainment and music instruction.
